TEHRAN.(Iranart) – T heater director Sadeq Vafaei is to bring on stage the play ‘Guardian Angel’ written by Václav Havel, the former president of the Czech Republic.
Zolfaqari Hall of Arasbaran Cultural Center in Tehran will host the play in early January 2018, for 15 nights, Mehr News Agency reported.
Bahman Vakhshour, Abbas Khadem, Alireza Gilvari and the director himself are in the cast. Two years ago Vafaei held a stage reading of the same play with his current cast as readers.
The one act play has two characters. One is Vavak, a playwright who has achieved great success in his own sphere. One day a mysterious stranger pays him a visit. He works for the secret police and has come to deliver some sinister message to the playwright.
Václav Havel (1936 –2011) was a Czech statesman and writer, who served as the first president of his country from 1993 to 2003. Prior to that, he had served as the last president of Czechoslovakia from 1989 until its dissolution in 1992. As a writer of Czech literature, he is known for his plays, essays, and memoirs.
