TEHRAN.(Iranart) – “Daughter”, an acclaimed drama by Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi, received seven nominations at the PIFFA Supreme Awards, which is underway in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The film has been nominated for the best film award, while its stars Farhad Aslani, Merila Zarei and Mahur Alvand received nominations for best actor, best supporting actress and female newcomer award respectively.
Mehran Kashani received a nomination for best screenwriter, Hamid Khozui Abyaneh was nominated for best cinematography and Meysam Moini was nominated for best film editor.
“Daughter”, which is about the clash between generations, tells the story of Mr. Azizi, an engineer for the Abadan Oil Refining Company, who is making arrangements for an engagement party for one of his daughters while his other daughter, Setareh, plans to leave Abadan to attend her friend’s goodbye party in Tehran.The winners will be announced during a ceremony on Monday.
