Colombia Award for Mollaei’s Kupal
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – I ranian feature film ‘Kupal’ written and directed by Kazem Mollaei has won the first award in the New Directors category at the 34th Bogotá Film Festival ‘Bogocine’ in Colombia, October 20-26.
It is the story of Dr. Kupal, a taxidermist hunter, played by Iranian-Armenian actor Levon Haftvan. Just a week before the beginning of the Iranian new year, he encounters a strange challenge in his life, Mehr News Agency reported.
Mollaei’s first feature film has been a total success. It has won several prizes including the Best Film Award at the 6th on-line Brasov International Film Festival in California and the Best Feature Film Award at the 3rd Around International Film Festival in Amsterdam.
Established in 1984, the Bogota Film Festival is recognized as a world festival specializing in feature films by new directors.
